1. When and why did you get involved with 88.1 FM

I’m a newbie and just started in April 2024. I was brought up listening to records and the radio with my dad and those are some fond memories. So now I’m obsessed with music and love sharing it with people! I appreciate the format KVSC has to offer and just had to be a part of it.

2. What show(s) do you currently host on KVSC?

For now, Indie Brunch. I look forward to hosting others!

3. Please list some of the artists and musicians that you consider a must-play on your show(s).

I like to include artists with diverse and/or extensive catalogs, so things don’t get stale. As of late, I’ve been turning to The Cure, Frank Zappa (believe it or not, he does have a handful of radio friendly tracks!), Elton John, Brittany Howard, Gary Clark Jr., among others I’m not thinking of at the moment.

4. What music do you listen to when you’re not tuned into KVSC?

Lately, I’ve really been digging the classics as well as new artists occupying the soul/R&B and Blues genres. I’m always enjoying anything that Maynard James Keenan is a part of, and I love the projects Les Claypool comes up with. My favorite stations to tune into back home in the northern part of the state are The Current and KAXE/KBXE.

5. What is the most embarrassing (perhaps even shameful) music phase you have gone through?

I went through a Britney Spears phase in middle school/high school. Enough said.

6. What are your hobbies and/or interests?

I love being outside! I’m usually out biking, kayaking, hunting, hiking, or skiing. During my time indoors you can find me doing yoga and enjoying my record collection.

7. What would you like to be doing in five years?

I’ll hopefully be a more experienced wildlife/field biologist working out in the forest. I hope to stay involved in radio/communications. One of my life goals is to become a better communicator so I can help better share scientific ideas with the general public.
