ST. CLOUD, Minn. – KVSC 88.1FM is broadcasting a live hip-hop concert and inviting the public to experience Monday Night Live (MNL) in person with free admission to the show. MNL is broadcasting live from the Pioneer Place on Fifth in downtown St. Cloud as the alternative hip-hop groups More Than Lights and Kanser take stage in a special two-hour performance. The free concert is set for Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. Get a taste of what’s in store by listening to the on-air push.

We want to maintain the energy of the live audience in addition to the audience that is tuning in over the airwaves,” said Dana Johnson, host and booking coordinator of MNL. “Therefore, the show will be two hours long and not have the traditional format of Monday Night Live.”

The two non-traditional hip-hop acts are known for their lively shows. More Than Lights dish out energetic performances and a funky hip-hop style that has brought them to venues across Minnesota and surrounding states, drawing large crowds along the way.

Kanser features two members from More Than Lights and are every bit as energetic as their counterparts have proven. Both groups provide a tasteful blend of hip-hop, funk, rock and reggae to create a sound unlike anything else.

More Than Lights and Kanser are alternative hip-hop at it’s finest,” Johnson said. “They incorporate so many musical influences and styles it’s really hard to label, but essentially they are independent hip-hop artists just making the music that they love.”

MNL broadcasts live from the KVSC performance studio at 10 p.m. on Mondays and can be heard at KVSC 88.1FM or online at www.kvsc.org.
