The Historical Tradition of Quilts at the college of St. Benedict

In this installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts and Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack keeps listeners nice and cozy and warm with quilts! The College of St. Benedict celebrated their centennial in 2013 with a number of events including a pairing of the musical Quilters, which combines music, dance movement, and scenes of dramatic, historical intensity to depict the frontier life of pioneers from 100 years ago, with the visual arts exhibition The Quilt: The Art of Our Community, which features quilts from our local community and honors the women who have continued this historical tradition throughout the years.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
