MINDEN TWP., MINN — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the human remains found in Minden Township.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, Benton County Deputies Found human remains on a wooded property in Minden Township.

Detectives collected the remains along with other evidence found at the scene and transported them to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation.

The Examiner’s office was able to identify the remains and notified the Benton County Sheriff’s office that the remains belonged to Timothy Strand of Wright County.

Strand’s family reported him missing person’s

Strand was reported as a missing person by his family to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in June of 2019.

When Strand was reported missing, he was 62 years old. The cause and manner of Strand’s death have not yet been made.

This case remains an open and active investigation.
