He graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University May 5.

In an interview, Fisch said, “It’s quite humbling to receive this honor.  There are a lot of sports broadcasters around the nation, and to know you’re among the best is very exciting.  This isn’t just big for me, but for St. Cloud State as well, because it’s the first time SCSU has had an all-American.  So, hopefully it helps show how good our mass communications program is.”

KVSC station manager Jo McMullen-Boyer said, “Zack Fisch exemplifies the amazing opportunities that exist at KVSC and the Department of Mass Communications. He purposely sought out SCSU while in high school to gain Division One Hockey play-by-play experience.  This is something very few Division One schools offer student broadcasters.  Zack took his dream and we were able to help bring it one step closer to reality. I have admired his work ethic, drive and excellent skills as a play by play talent, we’re very proud of this ranking and collegiate achievements.
