A Waite Park driver struck an ATM machine at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 300 block of 33rd Avenue North in St. Cloud on Thursday.

St. Cloud Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says that police were called to the bank just after noon. When they arrived, they found the 20-year old Fadumo Omar had crashed into the side of a bank, colliding with an ATM machine. While the investigation is still ongoing, the crash did not appear to be intentional. It is believed that Omar was trying to park in the bank parking lot when she crashed.

Omar was given a citation for careless driving and was released at the scene. As a result of the crash, no ATMs are operational at the bank at 33rd Avenue North. The closest Wells Fargo ATM is at the South branch located at 200 33rd Avenue South in St. Cloud.

A passenger, 18-year old Hinda Omar, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. While the bank was open and customers were inside of the bank, no one was injured.
