The Minnesota Department of Transportation is asking motorist travelling Highway 55 between Rockford and Maple Lake to slow down due to road construction.

MNDOT says Highway 55 will be reduced to a single lane in several locations during non-rush hour periods starting Wednesday, May 7.

Closures are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until May 14.

The areas affected include Highway 55 a half mile west of Rockford at Gabler Avenue Southeast, two and a half miles east of Maple Lake between Crowfoot Avenue Northwest, and Colbert Avenue Northwest near Sullivan Lake.
