After 18 months of construction, the Granite City Crossing is near completion, and local leaders are holding a dedication ceremony on Monday. The DeSoto Bridge officially closed in March of 2008 due to the discovery of bends in gusset plates. The city voted to name the new bridge, “Granite City Crossing.” Among those expected to be on hand at Monday’s dedication are Senator Amy Klobuchar, Representative Michelle Bachman, and St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.

Monday’s Bridge dedication will be held at 8:00 am and is open to the public. Attendees are asked to gather at the downtown Kelly Inn parking lot before 8:00.
