Roads Closed As Suspicious Package Near Amtrak Station Investigated
12/21/2017 - 3:30 AM
Several roads were closed in northeast St. Cloud Thursday morning as authorities tried to identify a suspicious package.
The St. Cloud Police Department were called to the 200 block of 4th Avenue Northeast around 9 a.m. with the report of a suspicious item on the boulevard. This area is near the Amtrak train station. They closed off several roads as a precaution and contacted the Minneapolis Bomb Squad to identify the item.
By noon they determined it was not explosive after an X-ray by the bomb squad. However, the item was made to look like an explosive device.
St. Cloud Police are investigating.
