Archived: SCSU To Host Talk On Child Labor In Ghana

The Department of Geography and Planning at St. Cloud State University will be hosting a lecture Wednesday on the growing problem of child labor in the West African country of Ghana.

Development geographer and lecturer and Fulbright African Senior Research Scholar Paul Baidoo will be hosting the talk “Child Labor in Ghana’s Western Region Cocoa Growing Area.”

As the growing problem of child labor has been pulling kids out of school to work in the cocoa industry in both Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, Baidoo will address the need to establish measures to eliminate the problem.

The free public talk with Baidoo will be at the SCSU Atwood Alumni Room on Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m.
