Archived: Spring Hill Man Rescued from Corn Bin

A 39-year-old Spring Hill man is hurt after getting stuck in a corn bin Tuesday in the Spring Hill Township. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says at around 1:30 pm, Steven Pung climbed into a corn bin on the family farm. An auger started running and Pung was pulled down into the shelled corn.

Authorities shoveled corn out of a lower hatch on the bin and from around Pung in the upper portion of the bin until he was freed from the corn. Police say Pung was breathing and alert when he got out of the bin. He was taken to Paynesville Hospital by ambulance.
