Archived: Absentee Voting Begins Today

According to Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels, today begins absentee balloting for the November 6th General Election. Absentee ballots are for those who are unable to come to the precinct on Election Day due to several reasons like illness or disability, religious discipline, serving as a election judge in another precinct, or an eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by federal or state government.

College students who wish to vote at their home address, but can’t be there on Election Day, can vote by absentee ballot, by requesting one from the county where the student’s home is. The student can otherwise vote in the precinct where their college is located, and consider their college address as their home, but can only vote once during the election.
