Those in central Minnesota who support the arts are encouraged to attend a reception with state lawmakers at today. Minnesota Citizens for the Arts is hosting the event in order to discuss the importance of continued funding for Minnesota’s billion dollar arts industry. The event will be from 4-6 pm at the Pioneer Place in downtown St. Cloud. Citizens for the Arts Representative Josh Wise says he believes Minnesota has the best arts funding system in the nation, and cutting arts funding would be bad for economic development. Attending the event is State Representative King Banaian as well as Representative Dean Urdahl, the chair of the state Legacy Funding division.
