Archived: DWI December Enforcement Campaign Announced

The Central Minnesota reduction of Accidents for Safe Highways, also known as C.R.A.S.H, will be increasing DWI patrols as part of a statewide enforcement effort in December. Minnesota has seen 89 traffic deaths, 24 of which are alcohol-related in the past two years in the month of December. One in seven Minnesota drivers has a DWI on record.

The campaign is coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety and more than 400 Minnesota law agencies will be participating. The DWI enforcement and education effort is part of the state’s Toward Zero Deaths traffic safety program which aims at having zero road fatalities by practicing and promoting safe and smart drive behavior.
