Archived: Highway Truck Rear-Ended by Pickup Wednesday Morning

A Stearns County highway truck was hit Wednesday morning. A pickup, driven by twenty-nine year old Michael Gustafson, of Buffalo, was heading East on County Road 75 when he rear ended a truck that was parked in the right lane to block off traffic for some road work being done in the ditch. The truck was driven by thirty-five year old David Marvin Simon, of St. Cloud, who received minor injuries and went to the hospital on his own. The truck had a large flashing arrow directing traffic to the left, as well as an impact absorbing attachment that took the majority of the damage. The driver of the pickup said he could not see the county truck because of the sun rising directly in front of him. The accident is currently under investigation.
