The Stearns County Highway Department wants to remind famers not to plant crops within the road right of way because it is illegal.

State law prohibits plowing, tilling, or planting in the right of way, driviing lanes, shoulders, ditches and sight corners at intersections.

These rules are in place to avoid crops getting in the way of drivers vision of the road.
