Archived: St. Cloud Mayor Seeking Student Board Members

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis is announcing that he plans to reinstate a student advisory board. The students on the board will take on an advisory role to the mayor on city issues that affect the student population. Mayor Kleis says the board will provide a much needed student perspective in a college-heavy community.

“I first created the student advisory board about five years ago and we had an active group for about a year but students graduated and move on. I still think it’s important to have student input and wanted to recreate it. This opens up the opportunity for students to have a voice on issues and ordinances that may affect students directly," said Mayor Kleis.

Applications for the student advisory board will be accepted through Friday, February 18th. Applications will only be accepted by students at St. Cloud State UniversitySt. Cloud Technical College, or St. Cloud area private colleges. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Mayor’s office at (320) 255-7201.
