Archived: “Very Good” Voter Turnout Expected at SCSU

Workers at the SCSU polling station say they’re expecting a “very good” turnout for today’s midterm election. The Chief Election Judge at the Atwood precinct says peak voting times are between classes. Students at least 18 years old who live on campus can vote in Glacier Room South simply by showing a St. Cloud State student ID. Berg says the mere nature of this election is a tell tale sign that voter turnout will likely be high for a midterm election.

"Any time you’ve got a highly contested race or two or a particular issue that a lot of people are interested in, yes, that does increase the number of people that are coming out," said Jim Berg, Chief Election Judge at the Atwood precinct.

The polls close at 8:00 tonight. For a detailed rundown of local election results, tune in to tomorrow’s noon newswatch program on KVSC.
