Saint Cloud State University’s student organization M.E.Ch.A. is hosting their annual Day of the Dead event.

The opening ceremony is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1 with Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc in the Atwood Theatre Lounge. A community altar will be set up before the opening ceremony for those who would like to place an offering for the dead. Traditional offerings include photos, dried food or bread and candles. Altars will stay up until Friday, November 4th.

M.E.Ch.A.’s theme this year is “Death by Corporations.” The focus is on those who are lost by unfair labor practices and violence at the hands of corporations.
