Archived: “2000 Years of Astronomical Ideas and Discoveries

A respected faculty member is returning to SCSU from his retirement to give a presentation entitled “2000 Years of Astronomical Ideas and Discoveries”. David Williams has been an astronomy educator for more than forty years and recently retired as the planetarium director and faculty member in the Physics, Astronomy, and Engineering Science Department. A variety of astronomical ideas and discoveries will be touched on during the presentation including Galileo’s Observations, the discovery of dark matter, dark energy and the expansion of the universe. The presentation will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Ritsche Auditorium in Stewart Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
