St. Cloud State University To Host DEED Training Grant Ceremony

St. Cloud State University and two local businesses are holding a signing ceremony after workforce development grants totaled over $500,000.

A university spokeswoman says the university earned the grants while partnered with Nahan Printing, Inc. and American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM). The university earned a $300,000 training grant and a $208,000 grant with each business, respectively.

The grants were given to the university by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) as part of the Minnesota Skills Partnership.

The grants are intended to help these companies create a workforce through training that has cutting-edge knowledge of the business.

The signing ceremony will be held on Monday, April 22 at the St. Cloud State Welcome Center at 1:30 p.m.

This is the second time that a grant has been given to St. Cloud State and AAM in the past four years.
