St. Cloud Woman Charged with Tax Fraud

A St. Cloud woman has been charged with multiple tax crimes.

The Benton County Attorney’s Office has charged Jamie Lynn of St. Cloud with four felony counts of fraudulent income tax returns and four felony counts of failing to pay her income tax.

Lynn filed her income tax returns from 2014 to 2017 by overstating her withholding amounts. This allowed her to get thousands of dollars in tax return refunds that she was not supposed to receive. The Minnesota Department of Revenue states that Lynn should have paid more than $3,400 in income tax during that period.

Each felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.
