The lidded Jar comes from the third chamber of the wood kiln at St. John’s. It features an oak ash glaze interior and “natural fly” glaze—this comes from the ashes that flow freely in the wood fired kiln. The Jar lid is a swirling cone with a handle that resembles a pagoda. It has a beautiful burnt umber exterior color.

The St. John’s Pottery and Kiln is world renown, and master potter and artist in residence Richard Bresnahan is celebrating more than 30 years at SJU.
