Hoo boy! The semester is quickly winding down, and the pressure keeps winding up, hence the lateness of this post. But it is better to be tardy than absent (unless your professor is hardcore), so here… we… GO!

I was quite interested to see who would manage to take the top spot this week, given the powerful vacuum left by Flight of the Conchords. So kudos to Parlour Steps for, well, stepping up as they did. Our precocious PD Patrick compared their album to sugar, in that it is satisfing, but perhaps not for long. From what I’ve heard off of The Hidden Names, it’s definitely good, so I am curious to see how long this lasts.

I also got the jump on James this week, who managed to completely miss that The Clientele had a new record, made all the more silly because it has done so well in our charts over the weeks. This time was no exception, as they came in at #2. My bearded compadre was pleased as fruit punch to hear the news, so we may be hearing from Bonfires on the Heath this Friday.

Other notes:

Local band Wookiefoot debuted well, going all the way to 11. I mean, they could have just made it bigger at 10, but… they went to 11.

Animal Collective made a strong debut as well at #3. I am expecting fairly big things from this record going forward.

And finally some "awesome show, great jobs" to B.C., Julian Casablancas, the Flaming Lips and the Lost Fingers.

Wait a minute! There’s things here! There’s charts, there’s trees, there’s birds, there’s squirrels. Come on, we’ll bless them all until we get vashnigyered!

Thank You Underwriters
