Another local project is losing momentum thanks to the economy. After working on a plan for more than a year that would restructure and add more routes, St. Cloud Metro Bus announced Tuesday it is delaying the plan until economic conditions improve.

The State of Minnesota, which is suffering through a great deal of budget cuts, is a major funding partner of Metro Bus operations, providing 53 percent of its total budget. While Metro Bus staff is disappointed in the delay, they are working on a plan to service Sartell’s new Epic Center development, which includes Walmart and Sam’s Club stores, by this fall.
