St. Cloud State University recently dedicated the new Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF) building on Oct. 27, 2011. Prior to the event, a group of protestors marched and chanted from the Atwood Memorial Center’s Cultural Center to the dedication site at the former 801 building. The group was protesting the recent dismissal of Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Mahmoud Saffari. Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton attended the ISELF dedication and listened to the protestors following the ceremony.

Following statements by several SCSU students, faculty and staff members, Governor Dayton promised to meet with MnSCU Chancellor Steven Rosenstone to gather facts about the situation and share the student’s concerns. Minnesota data privacy laws prohibit SCSU administration from commenting on dismissal of employees.
