Former St. Cloud State Student Government Association president Michael Jamnick is running for the Ward 2 seat in St. Cloud’s city council.  Jamnick has lived for five years in St. Cloud and considers the city his home.

Jamnick says he really enjoys the town and the people he has met and worked with. He said he has been given many opportunities in St. Cloud, and says this is an opportunity for him to give back to the community.  Jamnick says the Student Government Association gave him extensive experience with budget cuts.  He believes this will prove invaluable as a member of the council, since the city of St. Cloud is currently facing its own budget issues.

The Ward 2 seat is currently held by Carolyn Garven, who has announced she will not seek re-election.
