Stearns County would like to remind lakeside property owners that they may need to get a permit in order to do repairs on shorelines and property that received damage from significant rain fall. This past summer’s heavy rainfall caused shorelines to rise considerably above their normal levels for the first time in many years.

Fix-ups including topography, performing maintenance on sand blankets above the ordinary high water level and maintenance on structures damaged from the rising water may need a permit. Constructions jobs also require permits from the county.
