The westbound lanes of Highway 241 from Interstate 94 to just east of St. Michael are closed today.   The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the eastbound lanes of Highway 241 will be reduced to a single lane to allow for westbound traffic, resulting in a traffic switch to a single lane of traffic in each direction through the work zone.    
 
The lanes are closed to allow the railroad to conduct some emergency repairs. Their work was expected to be completed by 2 p.m., weather permitting.  
 
Motorists area advised to take an alternate route to avoid the area, if at all possible.
