Granite City Radio Theatre Gears Up for Episode Two with Kat Perkins

KVSC, in partnership with Pioneer Place on Fifth, is getting amped up for round two of the fifth season of Granite City Radio Theatre! The second GCRT show will take place Wednesday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. with special guest Kat Perkins. 

Perkins is a singer/songwriter from North Dakota and was a semi-finalist on the sixth season of NBC's The Voice. Perkins' pop rock sound will be accompanied by house band Collective Unconscious.

The December 7 show is the second of four Granite City Radio Theatre performances; the other shows will take place March 15 and May 17, 2017.  KVSC will be broadcasting live from the historic theater on all four dates.

Wondering what to expect from season five? Never fear - we’re thrilled to be bringing back last year’s fan favorites Jay Terry as host, writer, and actor extraordinaire, Dan Barth meeting all your trivia needs and all new performances of Shades Brigade serial dramas.

KVSC’s 38th annual Trivia Weekend will arrive during winter’s blustery blast!  Pull out your parka, slip on your rain slicker, and charge up your weather radio for…Trivia Storm: 50-Hours of Torrential Trivia.

Early bird team registration begins on Thursday, December 15 at 9 a.m. Registration fees are $50 for community teams and $25 for college teams. High school teams can register for free. KVSC's offices are open on business days but closed on all federal holidays and weekends. If you're paying via check please make it payable to KVSC-FM. We're located in Stewart Hall, room 27 (basement level) at St. Cloud State.

For three consecutive days next February 17-19 Your Sound Alternative will create a brain fog with a hailstorm of questions about all things weather related. We'll offer up a good dose of pop culture, music and history questions as well.

So set your thermostat to trivia climate and if it involves our obsession with inconvenient truths… it’s part of the cyclone of questions for Trivia Storm: 50-Hours of Torrential Trivia.

Trivia Volunteers, prepare for the flood of answers and hop on our phone bank of telemetry stations at KVSC next February.

So, you heard a song, but missed the DJ telling you what it was called and who sang it.  Don't sweat it. Just go to our Spinitron page.  

Located in the "Listen Live" player on the upper right of all pages, you can see who's on the air and what artist and song is currently playing.  Also, if you click the host's name you can view their profile.  If you click the track name, you can view the entire play list in real-time via

KVSC is proud to be part of the AMPERS.  Ampers is an association of 18 independent community radio stations in Minnesota. Each station is locally managed and programmed by and for the local communities they serve.  Ampers is the largest network of community radio stations in Minnesota and one of the largest of its kind in the United States, including four tribally owned stations. From Grand Marais and Thief River Falls to Mankato and Winona, and just about everywhere in-between, we’ve got Minnesota covered. Our combined audience is about 250,000 devoted listeners.

PODCAST: Holocaust Survivor Henry Oertelt presents an original production--the amazing journey of Holocaust survivor Dr. Henry Oertelt.  The entire podcast series is presented in episodes of the 18 critical events that led to Henry's survival of five Nazi concentration camps and a three day death march.  Henry Oertelt's compelling book, "An Unbroken Chain" was recorded and engineered at the KVSC studios.  KVSC is sincerely honored to be the audio archival source of Dr. Oertelt's eternal message of hope and dignity.
